Des Moines Water Works and the City of Bondurant monitor water use and water quality on a daily basis. Conditions can change quickly and could lead to a Water Shortage Plan. Specifically, Des Moines Water Works monitors for microcystin in both the Raccoon and Des Moines rivers on a daily basis. Microcystin is a toxin produced when harmful algae blooms are fueled by nitrogen and phosphorus contamination in surface waters.

As a result, the City of Bondurant encourages all residential and business customers to follow the Wise Water Use odd/even/no Monday lawn watering schedule in the flyer below.

Water quality can change on a daily basis.

Customers can visit the Des Moines Water Works website: www.dmww.com and follow DMWW on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (dsmh2o) for the most up-to-date information.

You can take action that will help improve water quality. Learn more here https://www.cityofbondurant.com/home/news/water-conservation-answer
