Carnegie needs your help documenting the COVID-19 pandemic. Contribute your stories to the Carnegie Library archive by completing the Carnegie COVID-19 Community Stories questionnaire. Your stories will be added to the Carnegie Library local history archive. 

Carnegie Library for Local History is the local history branch of the Boulder Public Library. At Carnegie, you will find an extensive collection of archival materials about Boulder County’s history. Archivists collect and preserve our community’s memories for future generations.

Collections include:

  • Documents: personal family histories, diaries, document collections for businesses, organizations, city and county departments, real estate records and more
  • Photographs: thousands of images from the pioneer era to present
  • Maria Rogers Oral History Program: more than 2,000 oral history recordings that tell the stories of Boulder County in residents’ own words.
  • Historic Boulder and Boulder County newspapers on microfilm, print and newspaper clippings, ranging from 1869 to present including the Boulder Daily Camera archives organized by last name and subject
  • Architectural drawings including large collections from architects Hobart Wagener and Charles Haertling
  • Maps
  • Yearbooks
  • Boulder Genealogical Society collection

Carnegie now needs your help documenting the COVID-19 pandemic! Contribute your stories to the Carnegie Library archive by completing the Carnegie COVID-19 Community Stories questionnaire. Your stories will be added to the Carnegie Library local history archive and help future generations understand what it was like to live through this time in history. A Spanish version is also available. We hope to collect a rich archive of COVID-19 stories from across Boulder County. Completed questionnaires will be available for public access in the Carnegie Library archive and website.

Details to know:

  • The questionnaire will be open for responses through February 2023.
  • Anyone can fill out the questionnaire, although our focus is to collect stories about the Boulder County experience of the pandemic.
  • Currently, the questionnaire is only available online.
