Engineering, Education faculty at Auburn University collaborate to improve STEM education in rural Alabama school

Stem

recently issued the following announcement.

The Bondurant City Council and the City Staff are starting a new ad hoc Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee. We are inviting our community members, business leaders, and partners to join us for a kick-off meeting on Monday, May 9 at 6 pm. We will meet at City Hall and offer a zoom option for anyone not able to join in person. Watch the city website for more details.

The goal of the committee is to ensure our community is a welcoming and supportive community for all. Initial ideas include looking at the City of Bondurant codes and other elements of operation and how we can educate and learn about DEI. We also want to hear from our community members too, so bring ideas to share at our meetings. We also will look at other ways to collect feedback.

This committee will probably start with a monthly meeting, once the core committee members are set, a schedule will be decided upon. If you are interested in joining, please show up at 6 pm on May 9th. If you are interested in the committee but unable to make the initial meeting, feel free to email Bob Peffer (bpeffer@cityofbondurant.com) or Chad Driscoll (cdriscoll@cityofbondurant.com).
