Grab the pups! The Bedford Police Department will host its inaugural Cops and Canines 5K and 1 mile Mutt Strut on Saturday, March 25 at Generations Park at Boys Ranch, 2801 Forest Ridge Dr. All proceeds from the 5K will go toward the BPD’s Benevolent Fund, which supports police department employees and their families in various ways.

The 5K route will start and end at Generations Park at Boys Ranch, wrapping around nearby neighborhoods. In addition, 1 mile Mutt Strut participants (with their pups!) will run/walk two laps around the lake within the park! The Mutt Strut is free but please note, all dogs must be on a leash. We’ll also have a special gift for all participating pups!

Registration for the 5K is $30 for adults, $15 for children 13-17, and $10 for children 5-12. Registration prices increase for adults after Saturday, February 25. In order to receive a race day T-shirt, registration must be complete by March 3. To see the race day schedule, view the route, and register for the run, visit the event webpage.

In addition to the 5K, there will also be several raffle drawings during the event. If you’re interested in donating a raffle item or basket, please email Deputy Chief Todd Murphree.
